About

Music is the wine that fills the cup of silence" - Robert Fripp
That is how Shila Marie feels about every song she sings and every lyric she writes.
Shila has been performing professionally for the past 23 years.
From 2000-2004 she was with A local vocal school in Edmonton where she was given performance opportunities as well as vocal teaching opportunities. In 2004 she travelled to Nashville to record 2 singles written by well known songwriters, "My Love Goes That Far" Written by: Tia Sillers & Mark Selby and "I'll Just Leave The Lonely To You"- Written by: Sarah Majors and Viktor Krauss- and is thankful for that opportunity.
She has been on the road with her "Shila Marie Band" since 2005, and has travelled all over Alberta, into BC and Saskatchewan playing festivals and the touring circuit. She is looking forward to bring the 4 piece back in 2023! The band will do a mixture of cover songs as well as original material.
In 2011 she started songwriting for the first time as an artist and found it to fulfill her even more artistically! "I love writing down my thoughts and turning experiences into music. Not only is it therapy for me, and so much fun, but hopefully it will touch someone else just as much!"
In 2013 she teamed with some great friends (now sisters),to form Dirt Road Angels" and since then, more dreams have been realized, such as writing and recording 3 albums, many opening act opportunities such as Brett Kissell, Sammy Kershaw, Arron Tippin and Collin Raye and more.
While still a member of Dirt Road Angels as well, in 2023 she is excited to get her own project started again with her husband Réal Fagnan -CCMA guitarist of the year nominee, and looks forward to many new opportunities! She has been writing and is looking forward to releasing new music in the future.
“The sky is the limit, and I can’t wait!” -Shila Marie
